I am having difficulty getting a linked server to work in SQL2008 R2 64bit. I did some searching in the forums and see others are having similar issues but I still have not gotten it to work.
Windows 7 64bit
ServiceNow 64bit ODBC driver
SQL2008 R2 64bit
Error for 64bit driver:
OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "SERVICENOW" returned message "[DataDirect][ODBC OpenAccess SDK driver][OpenAccess SDK Client]Failed to create the Core Service component.".
I have tried the 32bit driver and get this:
OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "SERVICENOW" returned message "Login timeout expired".
OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "SERVICENOW" returned message "A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online.".
Msg 53, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server .
If I test the connection in the 32bit ODBC administrator and it connects just fine and if I use the Interactice SQL command prompt I can get data.
Anyone have any thoughts?
