Hi there,
"Is it possible to translate the Chat Header?" This is a question concerning Virtual Agent which has been asked on the ServiceNow Community several times before. A solution from anyone? No, also not myself 😀. Just not possible. Though did you know that this is actually possible since the Quebec release?! I've missed this change as well, so just sharing this with the ServiceNow Community.
Chat Window Chat Header
To clarify the exact Chat Header which we are after:
Pre-Quebec
You could change the wording of the Chat Header opening the branding record concerned by navigating to: Collaboration > Branding and Chat Menu
Notice that the Chat Header, is a "string" type field. I did test before if maybe applying a UI Message would work, though no go.
While I18N Debugging does not always show up (so it's not 100% accurate), in most cases it does give a good indication if something is translatable. Unfortunately, for this situation no prefix is shown on the Chat Header.
Want to know more about I18N Debugging? Read about it in this blog that I wrote a while ago:
Q: Help!!! (How) can I translate this? A: Have you had a look at I18N Debugging?
Quebec
You could change the wording of the Chat Header opening the branding record concerned by navigating to:
Collaboration > Branding and Chat Menu
Notice that the Chat Header, is a "translated_field" type field. While with pre-Quebec, this was a "string" type field. Being it a "translated_field", this indicates that a Translated Name / Field can be used!
You could add Translated Name / Field manually. Easier method though:
- Enter the value in English, save
- Switch your language
- Enter the value in the language you switched to, save
This will automatically create the Translated Name / Field. You should be able to see the changes in both languages!

And that's it. If any questions, let me know!

@Mark Roethof This is not working for me. Although I can see it is working in the branding page, when i impersonate a French user or just change my language to French and login to the portal the chat header remains in English and it is not translated to the user into French. Any help please?!
I tried to do the instructions in this KB as well https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB1005955
