Can you just think for a minute and answer below questions, considering your instance version is NOT Quebec?
Ho that’s easy right, yes those can be done by applying Catalog UI Policy or Catalog Client Scripts.
Have you ever wondered, why there is no simple checkbox (Mandatory) like any other form fields (refer the screenshot) to make a variable mandatory?
Ho yeah, but no clue why platform didn’t provided that simple check box for variables earlier. Maybe we can figure out the reason some day or share your view on the same if you have any.
ServiceNow adding cool set of features/enhancements in each release, as always. This time in Quebec, short and easy way of completing #1 and #2 questions mentioned above developers can simply configure checkbox like any other form field (Dictionary entry). So avoid Catalog UI Policies/Catalog Client Scripts to make variables mandatory or read-only, going forward from Quebec.
Similarly, we can find a “Inactive” checkbox on the Question Choices form to inactivate unused choice values from the dropdown.
To use these features, no additional subscription or plugins required as these are core platform features comes out of the box.
Happy Configuration!!!
