Abstract:

CenterPoint Energy (NYSE: CNP) is a Fortune 500 electric and natural gas utility headquartered in Houston, TX, serving more than 5 million customers in several markets in the U.S. This includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.

CenterPoint Energy embarked on a journey to reduce the risk of increase cost associated with noncompliance of software license agreements, and to become more efficient and accurate in their practice of software license management.

In this session, they'll demonstrate how CenterPoint Energy used the ServiceNow SAM Pro module to streamline management of software entitlements, using normalization of software titles, integration with Microsoft portal, and the use of SAM’s content library. This resulted in a more accurate view of the CenterPoint Energy software entitlement position and a reduction in cost associated with audit findings.
