When adding a link to another Knowledge site, use the title of the target article as the text of the link to improve clarity

This is how it looks when you use the target URL as the link text:

find_real_file.png

And this is the result after changing the link text to use the target article's title:

find_real_file.png

 See the difference? Better?

How to edit a link in a Knowledge article

Follow these steps to create or edit a link in your article:

  1. Select the text you want to use a link (or click on the link text that you already had created).
  2. On the toolbar, click on the Insert/Edit link button. A dialog window will pop up:
    find_real_file.png
  3. Fill in the fields:
    • URL: The target URL where the user will be sent to.
    • Text: A description of the content of the linked document.
    • Target: Select New window (_blank) to ensure the link opens in a new browser tab or window (this is optional, but will ensure that the reader won't leave the article when clicking the link).
  4. Skadoosh! You're done!
