San Diego Release: Driving efficiency and improving flexibility in order management and service management

The telecom industry is at a point where traditional order management and service management processes are incapable of processing complex new service orders efficiently or providing dynamic automation for a modern service operations ecosystem. An intense focus on radically improving customer experience is shaping communications service providers’ (CSPs) business strategies worldwide, compelling them to transform their operations.

With the San Diego release for Telecommunications, ServiceNow(r) is laser focused on helping CSPs drive efficiency and improve flexibility across order management and service management, resulting in greater customer satisfaction and a more profitable way to deliver and ensure services.

Order Management for Telecommunications

In Order Management for Telecommunications (OMT), we have added new features to help CSPs deliver the complex product and service orders that today’s enterprise customers demand including:

  • Enhanced Order Capture to capture complex order scenarios with a single user interface
  • Staggered Order Decomposition to drive flexibility and efficiency of complex order orchestration
  • Quantity-based Order Decomposition to automate workflows for multiple quantities for a single product or service
  • Enhancements to Product Order API (TMF622) to increase flexibility to support in-flight changes

Telecommunications Service Management

In Telecommunications for Service Management (TSM), we’ve added new features that improve interoperability, accelerate time to market and improve time to value for CSPs including:

  • New TM Forum Open APIs to streamline customer experience with better utilization of industry standard open APIs. We've added three new TM Forum Open APIs that help standardize how products get added to a product catalog (TMF620), how the service catalog gets populated (TMF633), and how product inventory information gets retrieved and created (TMF637).
  • Streamlined Application Publishing to accelerate time to value when delivering new applications
