New ITBM features support your drive to recovery. Accelerate innovation, increase agility, and enhance productivity.

If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us it’s that plans have to be able to change. We’ve been hearing from our customers across the globe how the ServiceNow® ITBM solution has been helping them to adapt and adjust to the ever-shifting world they have found themselves operating in this year. It’s encouraging to know that our work is helping customers deliver success in even these most challenging times.

We’re not resting on our laurels though, in the Quebec release we’re helping our customers to improve planning even further. Here’s an overview of how ITBM supports your business through recovery and back to strategic growth in the upcoming Quebec release.

Build flexible roadmaps to drive strategy

Your world is still changing, and that means your plans have to be flexible. You have to be prepared to adjust your priorities, reschedule initiatives, add new investments and remove outdated proposals. And you need to be able to do it quickly, communicate it clearly and discuss options without ambiguity.

Meet the ServiceNow Alignment Planner Workspace with Roadmap Planning. Roadmaps are lightweight UI designed specifically for high level planning that allows you to adjust plans with a simple drag and drop. Powerful visualization functionality allows you to display and group plans based on any criteria or attribute you want. Want to combine projects and epics in a single view – go ahead. Want to replace that with insight into demands, no problem.

Whether you’re managing the portfolio, running a business unit or planning the future of your product, roadmaps give you the ability to drive meaningful strategic conversations, adjust plans on the fly and validate common understandings.

The ITBM Quebec release’s roadmap planning functionality allows users to:

  • Create a roadmap based on existing data (projects, epics, programs, or any other planned task)
  • Add new items directly in the roadmap
  • Group and color items based on any data attribute
  • Share roadmaps across users

Manage your projects and demands against available resources

The pandemic has impacted the funds you have available for investment, and the resources you have to deliver work. Portfolio managers are faced with having to find the perfect mix of projects and demands in the backlog, optimizing performance while leveraging those limited resources as effectively as possible.

Our enhanced portfolio workbench functionality enables portfolio managers to simulate multiple investment scenarios, with each scenario having a different mix of projects and a different budget. Portfolio managers can easily compare scenarios against objectives and determine the best scenario to deliver your strategic success.

With ITBM Quebec portfolio managers can:

  • Review the project / demand backlog and simulate multiple scenarios to deliver that backlog
  • Compare and approve scenarios based on contribution to objectives
  • Track and manage progress of approved investments

Integrate planning with work delivery

Planning isn’t an arbitrary exercise. It’s the foundation of the work you need to deliver to fuel your business as it recovers from the pandemic. The easier it is for you to connect planning with execution, the more effective and efficient your teams will be.

We recognize that so we’re bringing integration with your collaboration tools. Whether you use Slack or Microsoft Teams we’re helping you solve the problem of coordinating the efforts of all of your teams, regardless of their location. Structured project data can now flow from ServiceNow to your collaboration tools, connecting the people doing the work directly with the plans for that work. And if you’re a ServiceNow Virtual Agent user, well, you can integrate with that too.

ITBM Quebec seamlessly integrates ServiceNow data with:

  • Slack
  • Microsoft Teams
  • ServiceNow Virtual Agent

Implement SAFe PI Objectives

In SAFe, Program Increment (PI) Objectives are SMART objectives that summarize the goals that teams and Agile Release trains (ARTs) intend to deliver in an upcoming PI. These not only provide an immediate target to aim for, over time they allow for SAFe Predictability Measures to be trended to manage performance against PI Objectives. PI Objectives help to build and maintain alignment between work and outcomes.

SAFe program managers can now leverage this functionality in ITBM’s Essential SAFe app, allowing them to create and track PI Objectives, monitor business value and address variances. This helps develop one of SAFe’s key metrics – the Program Predictability Measure.

ITBM Quebec provides SAFe program managers with the ability to:

  • Create PI Objectives
  • Assign planned business values to PI Objectives
  • Track and chart actual performance over time

Improve risk management for your applications

As your business becomes increasingly digital you need to ensure you have an effective way of managing digital risk. While many solutions offer this functionality as a standalone function, you can’t manage your business efficiently without integration. ITBM offers a solution.

We’re integrating our Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) modules, improving the quality of, and reducing the effort involved with, managing application risk.

 ITBM Quebec delivers:

  • Native integration of APM and GRC for more effective and efficient management
  • Partial automation of risk and compliance mapping through the use of Information Objects
