The Now Platform® Washington DC release is live. Watch now!
SaaS license management is the practice of promoting ownership, agility, visibility, and accountability of SaaS and software vendors used throughout the business. You can think of SaaS Management as a member of the SAM family, specific to cloud-based applications and services.
While many businesses use on-premises software, many of our beloved applications—and the way we purchase and use software—are quickly moving to “the cloud” with the end-user in mind. These emerging SaaS products require a new way to track and manage software use, and SaaS management is the solution. SaaS license management fundamentally changes the posture of IT and procurement from a centralized, reactive approach to empowering, insight-driven management of the ever-evolving SaaS vendor stack.
SaaS License Management, available with ServiceNow® Software Asset Management (SAM), can help you optimize spend for your growing list of SaaS applications. By managing your SaaS apps on the Now Platform, you can:
SaaS License Management includes direct-to-vendor integrations, providing deeper insights and publisher-specific metrics to help make strategic decisions to reclaim and reallocate SaaS licenses and better prepare for future purchases and renewals. Below are the SaaS integrations available today:
Office365 and Adobe Creative Cloud are hybrid apps, where compliance positions require install data and usage data for ServiceNow to present meaningful optimization insights. Typically, hybrid SaaS publishers make up a large portion of your SaaS spend and are critical to optimize.
SaaS-only consumption tools that do not incorporate local install data will deliver limited value for hybrid SaaS apps. Likewise, vendors that have SaaS tools that are not integrated with their SAM tools will create issues for your hybrid SaaS landscape.
