COUNT GAUGES-How it works?

poojithac

Hi All,

I have created a gauge and saved it. I could see "Count Gauges" in related list. I couldn't   find anything about this in wiki.

Any idea like why and how this works ?

Thanks in Advance,

Poojitha C.

so in an out of the box instance, look at the gauge called: Incident Summary Counts (normally on the incident overview homepage).

/nav_to.do?uri=sys_gauge.do?sys_id=5fbf4877c611227a016b4be5ddd3a916

Count gauges allow you to define what you would like to see counts of, you can define what is a Critical Incident, what is Overdue, or make your own counts up.

Incident Summary Counts
Critical Incidents15
Open Incidents that have Critical priority

Overdue Incidents12
Open Incidents that have attained an overdue escalation value

Incidents Opened > 1 Week28
Incidents that have stayed open for longer than a week

Thank you mguy.

So, it means that it helps to group specified records depending on condition right? We can do the same by using reports if I'm not wrong If yes, how are they different then?

You set a query for each line you want to show:

And these populate the screenshot mguy showed prviously.

Thank you Mike. Just let me know how is it different from Reports?
