Hi. Whenever ServiceNow refreshes it often doesn't do so successfully and I get this error ( Http error 400 bad request ). user was using Firefox 49.0.1.
we have suggested user to try deleting single sign on cookie from Firefox and the problem hasn’t reoccurred. but today user is facing same issue with the firefox then he tried using IE still he is getting same error.
user deleted the Service Now cookie alone which didn’t fix the problem and he couldn’t find an SSO cookie relating to Service Now in IE.
Can any one help us how to resolve this issue?
400 error would be that the requested resource from the server is not present or the client has made an inappropriate request.
Hit Like/Helpful/Correct, if applicable.
Could you please provide a little bit more of information about the issue? How often does it occur? At what moments does it occur? Is it for one user or for many users?
Other relevant questions that will help you to troubleshoot the problem are:
- when was the first time this issue was experienced?
- was that after an upgrade or deployment?
- are you experiencing the same issue at other environments?
- what does the system log says?
Hopefully this helps!
this issue is facing only for one user.
They never had this problem. User is facing this issue from last week.
no, we are not experiencing the same issue at other environments.
When user ServiceNow refreshes it often doesn't do so successfully and he is getting this error.
Thanks for that information. If that's the case then most probably something is wrong at the client side. Perhaps with his/her pc/laptop or with his/her network.
The following link addresses a 400 bad request very well: HTTP Error 400 Bad request Explained
Quoting the important part:
There is a low-level problem in the client or the Web server or both. 95% of the time this is because of a problem on the client system e.g. there is something unstable on your PC running the Web browser.
What the root cause may be:
- cache --> clean the user's cache
- network --> advice the user to upgrade his network or to enjoy his vacation if he's working from a very remote place with poor connectivity
- browser --> perhaps he installed a plugin or something that's affecting
Clean the cache and see if the issue persists
Understand the network status of your customer
Understand what may have occured before the issue first occurred
As a last option... You may want to recommend to the user to attempt to use ServiceNow from a different laptop/pc. Just for the sake of "science". Which on reality is to proof that it's not your or ServiceNow's fault
I hope this helps!!
Thanks a lot Berny.
You're welcome Sujitha!
Would you mind marking the responses as helpful/correct so that we can close this thread and it can be of help for others in the future?
Is there any permanent solution for this issue?
What were your findings when talking/troubleshooting the client's situation?
Thanks you so much for your help
But user is facing same issue even after replacing the PC
Browser is Firefox 50.1. Refreshing this tab results in the same error, however ServiceNow will still open in a new tab of the same browser session.
Please guide us how to resolve this issue.
Hi Sujitha, I hope you're doing very well. My advice will then be to open a Hi ticket so that they can help you out with this issue.
Thanks for your reply Berny
We will do.
