Has anyone done any type of integration with SAP Solution Manager? We are trying to find out if this can be done and how other companies might be doing, web service, scheduled import?
Yes, we did integrate ServiceNow with SAP SolMan for 2 customers and another one is in progress.
We integrated the incident and change management processes: for incidents that would require SAP intervention, the incident created in ServiceNow would pass to SAP SolMan. For change management, the governance (assessment, approval, etc) is managed in ServiceNow, and execution of the change triggers the creation of a change document in SAP SolMan. There are about 4 to 6 integration points in the change workflows.
All integrations were done via web services.
As usual, the most important part is the process design and integration points to be identified in the process. Once this is clearly defined and boundaries between the 2 systems are clear, the technical integration can take place.
Hope it helps,
I would like to get in touch with you on the integration part.
Can you contact me?
I would like to get in touch with you on the integration part and understand in detail.
Request you to let me know some additional information / useful reference material on the same.
Michele, would you mind providing the list of 4-6 endpoints? Currently looking at ways to streamline incident/change/problem mngt.
AppShowcase ,launched last year is an interactive listing of custom app work done on our platform – by customers, partners and employees. The idea behind the AppShowcase is to give our customer and prospects an idea of what can be done on the platform. We have collected over 500 examples of apps so far. If you have done any custom app development work on the platform and would like to showcase it on the app showcase, please write to email@example.com. We can work with you and if required can anonymize the customer name. Please contact us if you have any questions.
It will be helpful if you provide some additional information and useful reference material on the same.
There is a product that offers an integration with SAP and ServiceNow. This is a one-way interface, sending incidents from SAP to ServiceNow. This is very unique, because the program (add-on for SAP) allows users to create ServiceNow incidents from the SAP user interface. Every incident will contain all relevant information (system, user, program, authorizations etc.).
There is a 30-day trial too, so you can test it in your own systems for free.
For years ManSystems had a product for integration SolMan with Remedy, and their successor product SPP integrates SolMan with ServiceNow and other ticketing systems. You might want to give them a try.
