    Report on Users' Default Homepages

Is there a way to run a report to find out which homepages/dashboards users have set as their default? Additionally, is there a way to report on what users have set as their default Home (homepages or dashboards)?

I think this will show you.  The "default" one I think has an Order of 1.  Just paste "sys_ui_home_favorite.list" into the search.  Hopefully this will help.

            1) You can use "User Preferences" with filter name=homepage but this will give you sys_id of homepage.

            2) you can create a database view on homepage and user preferences to get the homepage name.

This would have been my approach (or dot-walk to the homepages to match their sys_id).

But this won't give you their default homepage, more the last one they used that "Homepage" will switch to.

                Scott,

This is a multifaceted answer as there are a number of variables that determine a user homepage.

If we assume for the moment that the user has not changed their homepage, then they will not have a record in the sys_user_preference table. (you'll need to add sys_updated_by in the list view to ensure the user was the one who also updated the record)

                /sys_user_preference_list.do?sysparm_view=&sysparm_query_encoded=GOTOname%3dhomepage&sysparm_query=GOTOname%3dhomepage&sysparm_first_row=1&sysparm_nostack=true

If the user has changed their page, the user name will appear in the User column and the name of the page will be shown in the Value column as a system ID.

This system ID is tied to the sys_portal_page and will provide you with the Title of the homepage.

As Deepak mentioned, this will only show you the last page the user set as their homepage. Technically, this is not the system default homepage, but will now be the users’ default homepage when this individual user logs back into the instance.

The default homepage is dictated by the view and filtered where the class = portal_page.

For instance, this should show you the ITIL homepage by the ITIL view:

                /sys_portal_page_list.do?sysparm_query=sys_class_name%3Dsys_portal_page%5Eview%3Ditil&sysparm_first_row=1&sysparm_view=

Whereas this should show you the ESS homepage by the ESS view:

                /sys_portal_page_list.do?sysparm_query=sys_class_name%3Dsys_portal_page%5Eview%3Dess&sysparm_first_row=1&sysparm_view=

I think this will get you started on creating a report.
